Baby’s Veterinary Bills

PLEASE HELP.

This weekend my friends’ dog had an unknown neurological episode that resulted in a weekend emergency vet stay and a host of medical problems were discovered. If you know Krystal and Caleb Cook, then you have been touched by their generosity. They are always the first ones to give and help, and now in their time of need I am rallying together the community to come to their aid. THE SWEETEST NUGGET

Baby is a 13 year old Jack Russell Chihuahua mix that has been co-pilot to Caleb Cook since she was 4 weeks old.

Baby loves treats, cuddles, and riding around adventuring with her family, Caleb, Krystal and Poppy the Chihuahua. She is known around town as the Sweetest Little Nugget and is a friend to anyone she meets.

WHAT HAPPENED

Saturday October 7th, Baby was found in the middle of the night, having a neurological episode resulted in paralysis on her left side. They rushed her to the emergency vet, where she spent most of the weekend while they ran a myriad of tests that uncovered multiple issues, the two most critical being moderate pulmonary hypertension and continued paralysis on both of her left legs.

WHAT’S NEXT

The emergency veterinarian told the Cooks that she does not believe it is time to consider end of life for Baby, but she is starting down a long road to recovery. She is still unable to walk or get up on her own and needs to see a neurologist to gain a better understanding of her condition. Veterinary Neurologists are not very common and highly specialized, and will be expensive to pursue.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

The weekend in the emergency vet, several tests, and further tests needed has amounted to an unexpected financial strain on the Cooks, who are doing everything they can to help her.
