Help me defeat cancer

Donation protected
Hi, my name is James Matheson. I was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal adenocarcinoma in May of 2021. The story actually begins in February of 2020. My brother went in to get his first colonoscopy. They found 16 benign polyps. Thankfully he is fine. He told the rest of us, me my other brother and sister to go get checked. Well being a truck driver, I figured I had some minor issues so I scheduled my first appointment. Then Covid reared it's ugly head. I couldn't get in due to offices shutting down and my over the road schedule. By September 2020 I had come off the road and was working for a local company. Throughout that year I had been checking with the doctors office to see if the had available appointments, still nothing. Enter 2021. I finally was able to get the procedure scheduled for mid March. They couldn't do a complete colonoscopy due to the fact that my rectum was 80 percent blocked by a tumor. The doctor said that he couldn't complete the procedure and the what he saw he wa 99.99999 percent sure it was cancer. He gave me a referral to Taussig Cancer Institute at Cleveland Clinic. After all the tests and needles and scheduling nightmares. It was confirmed. I am currently going through a treatment called TNT. Basically, they did radiation and oral chemo for 5 weeks and then 4 Mos of infusion chemotherapy. Finally if there is anything left they will do surgery last. The chances for a full recovery are high. However, since my diagnosis, my local trucking company has let me go. My spectacular wife is trying her hardest to keep us afloat but we are sinking. Losing 2/3 of the household income has been hard. Bills are getting behind. Thankfully, I was able to get onto my wife's health insurance. I am not one to ask for help, however, we need it your help now. Cancer is a rough disease in any form. I have heard good stories and bad ones. Mine hopefully will end with a happy ending. I do have a page on Caringbridge.org if you would like to follow my journey. I appreciate anything that you can give. I hope my story and others like it will get people in for their screenings. And hopefully we can end this nasty disease in all shapes and forms. Thank you for listening to my story.
