Hello!
My name is Jacqueline Breslin. My mother, Dolores Breslin (Dee) was diagnosed with, fought, and beat breast cancer in 2002 when I was 11 years old.
Not only was my mother brave enough to fight this illness, but she did it alone both financially and physically. She was a single working mother with no outside support. For that, she is my biggest hero.
Unfortunately, after twelve years of remission, Dee was re-diagnosed with breast cancer on June 29th of this year. Since the cancer has reappeared within the same breast that was affected in 2002, doctors are unable to radiate it for a second time. Because of this, she is facing a mastectomy and potentially more rounds of chemotherapy.
Dee is a brave, faithful, and loving person who has dedicated her life to helping others not only as a mother, but a nurse for many years. Throughout her life, Dee has been the person that many turned to when it seemed as though all was lost. Now, as her daughter, I feel it is my duty to ensure that she receives the same loving care so that she can see her beautiful newborn granddaughter, Temperance, grow up, to see me get married, and most importantly, to see how gracious people in the world can truly be.
As a new teacher, I am currently struggling to find work with today's economy. I want more than anything to financially help my mother whose hard work blessed me with the opportunity to go to college at Penn State University. I've decided that, since I don't personally have the adequate resources to help my mother with medical expenses, I will reach out to my community for support.
Please help me support my wonderful mother in her time of need. I would be tremendously grateful for any and all of the help that I can get. Any excess donations will be donated to a cancer research organization of Dolores' choice.
Thank you for your generosity, let's help FREE DEE!
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Breslin
