My sister’s 17-year old son, Grayson, is fighting a battle to beat a rare autoimmune disease that struck suddenly 2 weeks ago, sending him to the hospital with impact to multiple organs, including his kidneys, lungs, eyes, skin and intestines. The diagnosis is Granulomatosis with Polyangitis (GPA), which causes inflamed blood vessels and damage to multiple organs because, like other autoimmune diseases, the body is attacking itself. He has started a 6-month treatment of chemotherapy medicine and high dose steroids to reverse the kidney damage and hopefully get to a point of remission. With a long road ahead paved with risks and unknowns, his family is coping one day at a time. If you are able to donate to help with his hospital and treatment costs, as well as care required to ensure he has a sterile environment in which to heal, his parents would appreciate the help.
You can find more information about this disease, and other types of ANCA Vasculitis here.
Please keep Grayson in your thoughts and prayers as he fights to get to a state of remission. Thank you for all your support!
