For the love of Alex

In the early morning hours of Thanksgiving, my smart, beautiful, funny, smart ass, and culinary genius of a cousin lost a battle with his demons, but he has not lost the war.

Currently, Alex is in intensive care in a medically induced coma. The hope is that the swelling in his brain will reduce and his body stabilize allowing doctors to wake him up.

With situations like ours, there are stark realities to be faced. Presently, we need a specialized cleaning company to come in and address his bedroom before anyone can return to the house.

Additionally, no matter the outcome, Alex and his family will need financial support. Our goal is to raise assistance for a caregiver should he survive, and if he is to pass on, we will need support for funeral services.

On behalf of my family, thank you for the prayers, the phone calls and the messages of support. We are grateful for them.
