A year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that would eventually take my ability to work. A loss of one line of income was something we weren't able to overcome, even with what we thought were backup plans, and we ended up losing our home last November. We do have stable housing through a local hotel that provides most of what we need: an in-room kitchen, beds for us and the kids. We have been able to keep the hotel by Natalie working DoorDash. I have applied for disability, but it has been a long wait and fight for those benefits.
This has worked well until our car broke down and is basically unrepairable. Because of not having a permanent address, finding a replacement has been seemingly impossible. But, we have managed to find a place in Mechanicsburg that will work with us if we can pay a down payment of $1,500. We need a car to pay for the hotel, but most importantly, we need a car to get me to my doctor appointments in Philadelphia, Lancaster, and locally. Keeping my doctor appointments and a place to live aren't optional for maintaining my health. Neither can be done without a car.
As hard as it is to ask for help, we really don't have a choice at this moment. Please help.
