Hey Everyone,

I usually don't do these things, but something hit close to home in the last week.  One of my good friends, Jessica Wallace, has been diagnosed with a incurable but treatable cancer called Adrenocortical Carcinoma (That name is so long that I just copied and pasted it hahaha).

This is directly from Jessica's Facebook Status: She explains it a lot better than I would:

She said: I don't know how else to say this - so here it goes; I have Adrenocortical Carcinoma. Basically, this is an extremely rare, incurable, but treatable cancer. I have a rare, rapid growing tumor that is about the size of a medium size melon sitting on my left adrenal gland, in which the adrenal gland sits on the kidney. From what I have been told by the doctors is that this only affects about 1 in a million and only about 100 cases that are known. I have also been told that this... tumor has only evolved over the course of months. This tumor has also decided to metastasize (spread) to my lungs and create 14 (at least that are visible) nodules. There are SEVERAL doctors that are involved and at this point, and we are looking at a few different options. There is potential that I can have surgery to remove a portion of the tumor. There is also potential that I will have to have the entire tumor, adrenal gland and kidney removed. I have also been told by the doctors that I will need to continue to have chemo treatments for the rest of my life. The prognosis of this cancer is not a good one. Since this cancer is extremely rare, and there really isn't a whole lot of knowledge about it, there is potential that I may only have a few years. The next time that I will potentially have any more/new information is after the doctors meet this coming Thursday. Until then, just remember, I'm not dead yet!

Jessica Wallace and I have played softball together since grade school.  We've always been tight on the field due to the fact that she was my catcher throughout grade school and high school.  Jess has always been a really funny, out-going, wild and rambunctious girl.  She also has a sweet side that she doesn't show as often, but knowing her...... this whole last week probably has taken quite a toll on her mentally and physically.  Jessica has no idea that I'm doing this and frankly I haven't even spoke to her in person about this wild ride that she just started.  She usually is the type to "brush it off" like it's no big deal.  But this is a really big deal and people care about her.  She's got a wonderful family and a great boyfriend, Chris.

I had heard about this prior to the post being made on Facebook, but it was super hard for me to straight out ask her about it.  I feel like she needed to inform her entire family before telling the world, so now comes the start of crazy back and forth medical appointments and chemo.  A 30 year old should not have to go through this.  She's super active in sports and constantly on the move.

These funds will help her during this difficult time with medical bills and maybe some extra spending cash to do fun things while trying to keep her mind off treatments.

Again, Jess has no idea that I'm making one of these go fund me accounts.  I just believe that she deserves way better than what she's being handed right now.

Please donate!  Any amount helps! :)
