Hi, I’m Ms. Oviedo, and I have the privilege and joy of being a teacher.

Over the years of working in education, I’ve witnessed the many hardships that families face, and I’ve felt led to help my students in any way I can. As a Christian, I believe I’m called to serve and love families, but there’s only so much a teacher can do on a teacher’s salary. The Lord has always been faithful, providing opportunities and resources to meet my students’ needs, but recently, He placed it on my heart to start this GoFundMe to build a fund that can better support them.

As a teacher, I see firsthand that some of the biggest challenges students face don’t come from the classroom, they come from hunger and hardship at home. Just last week, one of my 6th graders shared that her family couldn’t afford to pay for a pumpkin patch activity, causing her to miss out. Later, she mentioned she hadn’t eaten because there was no food at home. That broke my heart. No child should ever have to experience that.

While I do my best to keep snacks in my classroom, I want to do more for the students the Lord has entrusted to me. Any money raised through this fund will go toward providing food and snacks, toiletries and basic necessities, and helping students participate in school activities their families can’t afford.

Every donation, big or small, helps feed a child, lift a burden, and remind a student that they are loved and cared for. Thank you for helping me love and support my students in tangible ways.
