Susan's Story

For those that do not know me, my name is Susan Linner and I have 4th Stage Pancreatic Cancer.

It's hard to believe I just turned 68 years of age in April. I have lived a very healthy and active life, and since retirement I have found myself caring for others (at least 20 years my senior) and love doing it. It became very clear while taking care of them that their doctors felt they were too old to be treated with some of their medical issues. That didn’t sit well with me, so I decided to become an advocate and support them getting the care they needed.

Even before taking on the role of advocate for seniors, I have been a long-time advocate of animals but specifically cats. This includes taking care of a colony of local cats for the past 5 years in my area with daily feedings and offering makeshift homes for them over the winter months. I made sure that any feral cats were trapped, neutered, and released to prevent further population growth, and any kitten I acquired was adopted out.

TODAY, I am now needing to become an ADVOCATE for myself looking for ways to heal myself from the big “C”, which has metastasized to my liver.

It was only after a random neck and head injury in October of last year that I started experiencing pain in my left rib a few days later. Based on my experience with the medical world, I decided to treat myself naturally, but after two months I was now experiencing nerve pain and stopped all the treatments over the holidays.

In January, my Chiropractor reviewed my x-rays which showed my L4 vertebrae had shifted over and my Osteopath suggested I go to the clinic to see a doctor for more tests due to the increased nerve pain I was experiencing. Additional tests were ordered, and I was now at a point that I was unable to keep food down leading to a 40-pound weight loss and I wasn't sleeping. The results from an ultrasound, CAT scan and a liver biopsy came in, which confirmed a prognosis of 4th Stage Pancreatic Cancer. I am amazed at how much I have already endured, but now the pain has become so unmanageable that I must give up caring for one of my seniors.

I am not a person that easily gives up, and with my deep faith in God and positive thinking I believe that I can overcome this disease. I have changed my diet, started green juicing, I do colonics and I started IV therapy with high doses of vitamin C to destroy the cancer. Currently I started doing energy work, affirmations, meditations and prayers, but I am at a point that I need help to continue doing all of this.

There are no children, husband or family members that I can go to for financial support. I know that my time is not done here, and I want to continue with my life purpose of sharing and guiding others through obstacles, BUT in order to continue my purpose I need your help.
