Who knew a common antibiotic could result in permanent lung damage and the need to be on oxygen 24/7 for the rest of your life?? We certainly didn’t. But that is what happened to my brother, Greg Getman.
TEAM OF DOCTORS
Since June, Greg has been hospitalized for a total of 21 days with a serious infection. Released the first time on oral antibiotics only to be readmitted after developing what the doctors thought was pneumonia. In actuality, Greg was having an inflammatory response to the antibiotic. By the time it was identified, the damage was done.
LIFE FOREVER CHANGED
For the rest of his life, Greg will have to rely on a machine that produces oxygen to breathe. This situation has resulted in major life changes and financial distress.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Since Greg fell ill while at our home on Long Island, he has not been able to work or return to his home in Northern New York. Due to the damage to his lungs, he will not be able to work and the process for permanent disability can take over a year. Your help is what is needed in the meantime.
Any donation is welcomed and greatly appreciated. Funds raised will be used to pay for Greg's expenses and help him return home.
