My dad was recently diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer, and while this diagnosis has been incredibly overwhelming, one thing is certain: he’s ready to fight.

In the coming weeks, he will begin an intense 6–9 month treatment plan of chemotherapy and radiation. The hope is that this treatment will shrink the tumor enough for him to undergo surgery to remove it. It will be a long, exhausting road, both physically and emotionally, but he’s approaching it with strength, determination and of course humor. Anyone who knows my dad knows that he’ll be laughing and cracking jokes through all of this!

Unfortunately, this journey also brings significant financial strain. Medical bills, treatment costs, travel, and daily living expenses will add up quickly. My dad is self employed and it’s likely that he won’t be able to work during much of his treatment, leaving us uncertain about the future and how we’ll manage everything that comes with it.

One thing that speaks volumes about who my dad is: he has been sober for almost 9 years. His recovery journey shows his resilience, commitment, and ability to face hard things head-on — the same strength he’s bringing into this fight.

We are raising funds to help offset medical expenses, household bills, and unexpected costs that may arise during this difficult time. Any donation — no matter the size — will help relieve some of the stress and allow my dad to focus on what truly matters: healing and fighting this cancer.
