Frankie is a French Bulldog and she’s been my rock for the past 6 years. We’ve gone through a lot together- breakups and life changing health problems, triumphs and tragedies, and now it’s time to give back to her.
She was diagnosed last year with IVDD, which left her with nerve damage and partial ambulatory paralysis. She’s been a trooper through lots of physio but unfortunately it’s also left her with a recurrent UTI. Multiple vets have been unable to treat her and she has now become a antibiotic resistant.
Frankie was eventually referred to Canada West Veterinary Specialists and Critical Care, where I am thankful to have the help of some of the best vets in Canada. Her current treatment plan is a heavy dose of antibiotics and frequent urinalysis, and the doctor has suggested a rather novel surgery to combat the issue.
Frankie needs an Episioplasty/Vulvoplasty to remove the extra skin around her vulva to prevent the trapping of bacteria (a tootie tuck, if you will). The surgery has shown a lot of promise and has reversed most of the “untreatable” cases.
The cost of the surgery will be approximately $4000 but her ongoing cost of care has wiped me out, so I really need your help!
Anything you can spare to make her life a little better would be amazing. She’s the most loving doggo I’ve ever met and I just want to give her the same love she shows the world.
