It's with a heavy heart that we share Nicholi Darkus passed away on 06/05/23, this Gofundme was created to help support his family during this difficult time.
Mara shared a brief story about her husband -
Nicholi (aka Nick) was truly a man of service. Nick started his service career in the Navy, he later became a Wildland Firefighter, his ultimate goal was to be a Police Officer for the LAPD. He reached that goal.
Nick and his wife, Mara, have 3 children, ages 16, 14, and a soon-to-be 5 year old (6/26/2018). Nick enjoyed the outdoors- hiking was his favorite activity. Nick was diagnosed with cancer in 2019. He was resilient after his initial surgery. Last year, Nick went through chemotherapy with promising results. Nick was courageous and selfless, he fought fearlessly.
In the end, he passed away surrounded by family and friends.
