Glen Mantilla Lung Transplant
Donation protected
Glen was a young, healthy, active husband and father to 3 until about a year ago when he was diagnosed with pneumonia. After no improvement on antibiotics, it was found that he actually had a rare pneumonia called cryptogenic organizing pneumonia that should be responsive to steroids. He was on steroids for months. He has now been in a hospital for 3 months. He has had a lung biopsy which shows there is irreversible fibrosis and he needs a lung transplant. He was just placed on the list yesterday. He will be unable to leave the hospital until he gets a transplant because of how much oxygen he is requiring. He has 3 young children and a wife still at home eagerly waiting for him to come home again. He may not be able to ever work again and definitely not at least for 6 months after a transplant.
They have lost an income plus adding the medical costs of a prolonged hospitalization and transplant. They do have health insurance but it is difficult to live on one salary now.
Please help me to support this amazing family and show how much we love them!
