HELP HEAL OUR HEALER!
Donation protected
Our dear brother and bedrock of our family, Gregory James Dahl had his life immeasurably altered by an accident! He is struggling to regain his ability to walk and the use of his hands after slipping on ice and falling first on his tail bone then snapping backward to bang his head on the cement. Please consider helping Greg to recover by supporting his financial losses as he focuses on his health rehabilitation. He will be spending months in acute trauma rehabilitation and is forced to close his chiropractic business. With the medical expenses piling up and Greg’s loss of daily income shut down, the financial landscape is pretty bleak. This is such a scary blow to Greg and to all who know and love him. Donations are incredibly welcome!
MORE ABOUT GREG
Greg is the oldest of 5 children, born in 1955. It’s so hard to put into words who Greg is. Some adjectives that come to mind are funny, humorous, smiling, impish, GREGarious (his parents named him well, hahaha), steady, healer, friend, intuitive, creative and precocious.
As the oldest, Greg thought it was his job to teach his siblings. Things like how to sneak everyone outside, climb along the brick fence wall, traveling several houses down while sneaking away from the babysitter. Or the time he thought it’d be great fun to climb into grandma Emma’s granary to catch loads of mice. Unfortunately, dad Myrl said we couldn’t keep them and had to release them. Greg is the epitome of the family man. With sister Kim, he steadfastly visited mom Dorothy every Sunday at the Memory Care Center in Northfield. He attends every possible family event including Christmas, holidays and birthdays. To this day, we rely on Greg for his steadiness, his availability to support and to encourage, and sometimes to lead us into naughty shenanigans.
Greg follows in his grandma Elfie’s and father Myrland’s footsteps as an avid gardener. He is in the midst of transforming his yard into an oasis of flowers, plants, vegetables and herbs, he even has a koi pond!
Greg is an adventurous traveler. He has seen the pyramids in Egypt, studied in Pau, France and has taken a year-long spiritual and transitional walkabout throughout many of the United States.
Greg inspires many as he is a long-time friend and ally in the LGBTQ community. As an open and affirming person, he has supported many people along their journey, including friends who’ve suffered from the AIDS affliction.
MORE ABOUT HIS HEALING TOUCH
Greg made life appear easy as he excelled in school. He graduated high school early to attend the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul where he graduated early at the age of 19! He furthered his studies at Northwestern School of Chiropractic and made his lifelong career as a chiropractic doctor. He has healed many, many clients who became friends. He’s healed family and friends and accident patients. He employs such an intuitive and empathic method all while listening or storytelling. His chiropractic sessions were more than chiropractic healing, they were also mentally and spiritually uplifting. It’s a big loss for many of us that he is closing the doors. Just as he has healed many of us through his healing touch as an intuitive doctor/chiropractor, we are asking for your help to heal him.
MORE ABOUT HIS ACCIDENT
On Monday, February 20th Greg’s car slid on an icy roadway and landed in a ditch. He was walking up a steep sidewalk toward the tow truck when he slipped and spun around landing on his tail bone then snapping back to hit his head on the cement. The tow truck driver saw everything and immediately called an ambulance. Greg was transported to HCMC Trauma Center in Minneapolis. After stabilizing him, the staff realized he had very little control or capability in his hands and was immersed in sharp pain. His left leg was almost immovable. Greg met with their various medical teams, including neurosurgeons. They concluded the best path was to have surgery on his spine.
The surgery fused 3 of his cervical vertebrae including removing shattered bone. He now has a neck brace, and they said he will need to use it for 6 months. He will need to continue physical therapy for an indefinite period.
Because of this, he has immediate loss of income from his chiropractic practice, now being closed. He has unknown medical costs climbing each day. Of course, the bills from home and business keep coming.
Our goal is to mitigate the debt of Greg’s sudden trauma and transition into retirement. We also hope to set Greg back on the path of normalcy including gardening, traveling and being our stalwart brother, uncle and friend! So many of us have been healed by his caring and empathic healing touch. Now is our chance to return some of that gift. Please consider donating toward this cause for Greg, any amount is helpful, even a dollar shows your kindness. Thank you!
