Hello, my name is Jessica Roberts and I'm a professional cyclist for GB. In a few weeks I'll be racing an event called Battle on the Beach which is a gravel race. I wouldn't normally race a gravel race so I'm doing this as a bit of fun and I thought it would be a great way to fundraise some money for Cancer Research.

This is important to me as both my Grandad and my mum have been affected by cancer. Unfortunately my grandad died from pancreatic cancer back in October 2022. He died just 3 weeks after he was diagnosed. My mum was diagnosed with Breast cancer in January 2024, luckily her cancer was detected early and she was able to get the treatment needed and beat cancer.

My grandad was a massive part of my cycling career, driving me all around Britain to races and training camps, supporting me and cheering me on. He was my biggest fan so I wanted to fundraise by doing something connected to cycling. My mum continues to be my rock in everything I do, even with everything she's been through, she always puts me and my family first.
