Todd's Back Surgery Recovery Fund

Imagine suffering an injury so devastating it required immediate surgery and left you unable to work or care for yourself, day to day, for weeks on end... potentially months.
This happened to our friend, Todd Bender, on November 9th when he slipped in the shower and blew out two discs in his back. Transported via ambulance, he underwent lumbar discectomy/laminectomy surgery the next morning, November 10th, and has been suffering in a great deal of pain ever since.
Todd had been suffering from back pain since a terrible car accident in 1986 when he broke his tail bone. The pain had progressed recently and he was scheduled for an MRI in late November... the fall in the shower accellerated his need for an MRI and ultimately surgery.
I spent part of the day with Todd on November 30th and was truly flabbergasted with his physical condition and pain level. I am not in the medical profession, but after two lumbar discectomies myself in 2011 and 2012, I was up and going right away... something is NOT RIGHT and Todd needs our help to get him through this period in his life. He has been such an amazing friend to so many of us and I know asking for help was insanely hard for him. That should tell us something about where he is emotionally right now.
As we understand all to well, bills don't stop when life decides to throw us a major curve ball. Todd CANNOT work, he CANNOT generate an income and he CANNOT cover his bills. This is so terrifying for me to think about and I know he is feeling the strain. We don't have an end in sight right now...
Please send what ever you can, as often as you can. He will need the funds immediately to cover everything!
The money we raise will go to cover food... yes, FOOD!!! rent, car payment, utilities and transportation while he cannot drive. He cannot vacuum or bend over for 6 months... back surgery recovery would have been impossible for me without my husband... PLEASE do what you can to support Todd during this transition with the gift of cash so he can take care of himself.
