Hi, my name is Ruby, and I am planning to attend a Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth With A Mission in Yosemite.

Over the past 50 years, thousands of students have completed DTS, calling it one of the most life-changing experiences of their lives. DTS is an intensive Christian training program that combines classroom learning with international outreach to areas with little or no Christian influence. It equips students to grow in character, deepen their relationship with God, and discover their unique gifts and calling.

In 2023, I had an incredible encounter with God that completely changed my life. Since then, my faith journey has been raw, beautiful, and deeply transformative. There have been ups and downs, but through it all my love for God and my relationship with Him have continued to grow stronger, especially over the past year.

As I look ahead to finishing university next year, I have felt God calling me to dedicate this season fully to Him. Because I came to faith on my own, I have a strong desire to deepen my understanding of who He is and continue growing in my relationship with Him. Over recent months, I began to feel God placing missions on my heart. I did not know exactly what that would look like at first, but through prayer and conversations, I was led to DTS. Although committing to six months felt like a big step, that uncertainty has now turned into excitement and expectancy for all that God will do.

What draws me most to DTS is the opportunity to grow deeply in my faith and then step out to share the Gospel with others. As someone whose life has been completely transformed by knowing God, I feel passionate about helping others experience His love too. I want to be part of seeing lives changed and bringing hope to those who may have never encountered Him.

My DTS in Yosemite is especially meaningful to me because of its focus on connecting with God through nature. Being outdoors is where I feel closest to Him, and I love spending time in His creation through hikes and prayer walks.

I am stepping into this journey with faith, trusting that God will continue to shape me and use me to impact others.
