Piece of my testimony:
How I became a Christian and how I started living for Christ, are two very different stories.
- During college, the Lord graciously decided to stop me in my tracks and radically change my perspective on life. Things I had struggled with for years, anxiety being the main one, were quickly being pinned against me and I found myself in a very dark season. Satan used all these choices, my past, and my weaknesses, to bury me in anxious living.
One evening, I found myself flipping through Psalms in the Bible, hoping to find something I could grasp onto amid my weakness.
- This is when I began finding many verses that spoke to my soul and could give me a glimpse of hope. These verses, along with the belief that the Lord was near, slowly began shifting things inside me. I started to realize that I could start finding strength to fight this battle with help from the Lord, and not on my own.
I called on Him, to deliver me from the captive chains that bonded me to this anxiety and panic.
- It wasn’t any one day that changed me, but over the course of the next several months, He challenged me. God gave me opportunities to help me grow, the space to heal, the love to confide in, and the forgiveness to overcome everything that had once defined me. I saw Him opening doors, giving me courage, and equipping me with the strength to fight the battles with Christ alone.

YWAM Maui:
Youth With a Mission (YWAM) has a mission to prepare the next generation to disciple nations by building foundations in the Living Word and the written Word. YWAM Maui is a missions training center committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by equipping and mobilizing young people to do mission work. The purpose of their Discipleship Training School (DTS) is to gather and challenge people to worship, listen and follow the Lord, evangelize, intercede, express God’s heart to the world, and pioneer new ministries globally.
During the DTS, there are two main phases, the lecture phase and the outreach phase. During the lecture phase I will have the opportunity to know God more and will diligently be working to grow my faith. I will actively be seeking transformation, a renewed mind, and personal growth. My training will focus on how I can use my gifts to serve as a modern-day missionary. This will all be in preparation to deeply prepare and become equipped with how to share the gospel in the nations.
Outreach:
The second phase of DTS will be outreach. This is when I will have the opportunity to evangelize, teach, practice discipleship, experience cross-cultural communication, exercise spiritual gifts, and reach the lost. This phase emphasizes making God known. I will be placed into a team to serve God out in the world. I will also get the chance to discover my abilities as I get to care for people and share the good news of Jesus! YWAM Maui focuses their outreach on Southeast Asia. Specific outreach locations are determined by prayer and will be revealed during the first few weeks of my time in the program depending on where the Lord is leading us. While I don't exactly know where I will be sent out yet, I will likely be somewhere in the Southeast Asia region! I will be updating more once I learn where God is leading my team this year to do missions.
Making a Difference:
I've got a pretty wild 6 months ahead of me and I am in need of as much support as possible to make it happen. YWAM is one of the largest missions organizations in the world and during these months I will get to experience sharing the true gift of the gospel and impacting lives all across the nations. I will be spending three months in mission preparation, and three months in the nations, sharing the love of Jesus, healing the sick, and setting people free from their bondage.
I feel so incredibly blessed that the Lord will be using me serve others and your support will help change lives across the nations. As a recent college graduate, I will be relying fully on fundraising and donations to raise money for my training and outreach program.
Cost Breakdown:
For the first three months of preparation, the program will cost roughly $4000 during the lecture phase. This phase provides powerful teaching from motivating speakers and missionaries, community ministry and outreach, mentorship and counsel, and extensive preparation to become equipped to help transform lives.
The outreach phase will take place in the next three months and will cost roughly $4000. During this time I will get to put my preparation in action by sharing God’s truth in different places all around the world. This crucial part of the journey will allow me to take the message and love of God into the nations.
The following $2000 is a rough estimate of flights between the lecture phase and onto outreach in Southeast Asia. My target goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000 to properly equip me and fund the financial necessities of this program and mission.
