YWAM LA - DTS Outreach Phase

Hi,

My name is Sean and I am sold out for Jesus!!! 9 months ago, God changed the trajectory of my life and turned my whole world upside down. He led me from a stable mechanical engineering job in Boston, Massachusetts to Los Angeles, California to become a missionary!

Never did I imagine that I would be a missionary. I have been a believer in Jesus Christ my whole life, but never before did I have a fire inside me like the one God has ignited now! He has filled me with a hunger to grow deeper in my intimate love relationship with Him and to share the Good News to all the nations! I've sacrificed the safety and security that came with the life choices I was making before. I was quite comfortable where I was, but ultimately I was starving for real meaning and fulfillment in my life. I didn't really have the peace that surpasses all understanding. I didn't have joy that remained constant despite my circumstances. I wasn't treating God with the awe and reverence He is due.

Today, God has completely rearranged my priorities and shown me that my relationship with Him is the #1 most important thing in my life and there is no close second place! Every day I spend pursuing Him and seeking to be more and more conformed to the image of His Son. It is the most fulfilling pursuit of my life and I know now that this is what He made me to do!

I am currently a student at Youth With A Mission Los Angeles, enrolled in their Discipleship Training School. This school is INCREDIBLE and this organization is AMAZING!! I am growing and being equipped unlike I ever have been before. The primary goal of this Christian missionary school is to ignite students with passion to chase after God and to equip them to share His Good News to the nations.

The first part of DTS is the lecture phase, which is eleven weeks long. During this phase, students’ time is spent on the campus at YWAM Los Angeles living in community, worshiping, praying, serving, and studying God’s character. Each week, they soak in teachings from outstanding speakers regarding their unique calling and God’s limitless attributes. DTS offers different focuses that will allow students to develop their specific dreams alongside like-minded individuals. In their focus students will cultivate skills and vision through weekly break-out sessions and one full week of teaching dedicated to the focus they choose.

The second part of DTS is the outreach phase, which is two months long. During this phase, students take a two-month journey being God’s hands and feet to the nations. All outreaches have three components; evangelism, practical ministry, and partnership with local churches and ministries. Students will embark on an adventure working with the followers of Jesus who make God’s name known to every lost soul as each DTS track will be sent to different locations around the globe.

I am currently in my fourth week of the lecture phase of DTS, due to the incredible generosity of my family and home church who helped me to pay the $3,700 for lecture phase! Now I am looking to partner with others who are excited about helping to train the next generation of missionaries, to help me to raise the remaining $4,300 for outreach phase by December 21st!

I am so unbelievably excited to see what God will do in these coming weeks! I know He will defy my wildest expectations for what He can do through my humble obedience!
