Ever since I was little, God has given me a passion for missions. My brother was adopted from Haiti and that gave me an insight to some of the pain that children who grow up without parents experience. I have always had a passion for being the hands and feet of Jesus.
A few months ago, God gave me this dream/vision of this little black boy holding up his hands ( a gesture of asking to be held and loved), but there was no one there to love him or hold him. I heard God say that He was sending me to hold him and share God's love with him. For a long time I told myself that I would move to the Dominican Republic and serve there as soon as I graduated high school, but I soon came to the realization that I should get trained to be a missionary first. Through friends, conversations and signs, God led me to YWAM Fire and Fragrance in Kona, HI. YWAM (Youth With a Mission) is a discipleship training school. Their mission statement is to know God and to make Him known. I am so excited to be a part of this community of people that are actively seeking God and are passionate about Loving Him and loving others. The program is three months training and three months outreach. The training phase is about diving deeper into your relationship with God and seeking Him while intensely worshiping Him and learning more about how to be a good missionary- knowing God. The outreach phase is about going into the world and being the light of Christ in others lives, and going into a third world country and loving the hurting and the broken- making God known. I am so excited and passionate about what God is doing and what He will do.
I have been accepted in the program in January and I need to raise the funds for the training, the outreach expenses and the traveling expenses. The funds are in December. I would be so blessed by your support in both prayer and finances. When I first found out how much it cost, I was worried because it is a lot of money, but God just reassured me that it was His will and that He will provide.
