Hey, you guys! So, if you dont know me, my name is Andrea Wittmer. I'm 18 years old and graduated from highschool this past May. I have been so blessed to be given such a great family. My parents have always portrayed God's loving, patient and selfless heart to me. They raised me to always have Jesus at the center, holding Him dear to my heart and to love others in the same way that He loves me. I know how lucky I am to have them in my life and to have learned from them as I grew up. I would not be who I am, or where I am today without them.
If you will take the time, I want to share with you a glimpse into my testimony.
Throughout my life I have made countless amounts of mistakes. I have built walls and distanced myself from the Lord because of pain brought on by others. For years I placed blame on myself and marked myself unworthy of love. Covered in guilt and hurt for things I thought that God had allowed to be done to me. I was so confused and so lost. I didn't know where to turn to until Jesus called me out of that. He gave me strength to speak life over the darkness in my past. He showed me the worth that He created me with and the depth of love He has for me, its unending and so relentless. Jesus took it all of my shoulders and He forgave me, teaching me also to forgive myself and those who wronged me. For the first time in my life I realized that God longs for me to live FREE. Giving me the ability to speak so openly and unashamed about my past because it brought me where I am today. He loves to see us joyful, with so much love in our hearts. Since that time He has called me time and time again to take the love that He has shown me and pour it into others. I do not take that calling lightly. He gave me a compasssionate and sensitive heart for the lost and broken and I will give my all to use that gift for His glory. Jesus is SO good!!
So, as I heard His calling on my life (and calling to go to YWAM) I began praying and searching. When I came across the Colorado Springs dts I had so much peace. It was perfect timing-my sisters wedding is coming up and I obviously have to be here for that- being just 5 days after their wedding day. It had the focus I was leaning towards, worship, which I am so passionate about. There was just sign after sign telling me this was where I needed to be. So I applied! After getting my health forms in, my references and my application I felt so confident that this was the right decision. A couple weeks later I got the call that I was accepted!!:) SO much confirmation from the Lord. As I looked deeper into YWAMCOS I found that the base is called strategic fronteirs. Their goal is to reach the least reached people groups. To love on them! How awesome is that? I am so excited to be headed into this next season of my life and could not be more thankful that God has me where I am.
Some more informtion on YWAM, if you aren't familiar with it. It is a 6 month program with a dts phase (discipleship training school) for 3 months and an outreach phase for 3 months. During the dts I will be in Colorado. Deepening my relationship with God, learning more about Him, and training to go out into the world as disciples. During that time I also want to be a part of the worship focus, learning how to use the gift of worship in everyday life. In the outreach phase we will go to a different nation (we will know our choices after we have alreasy started the dts) and we will use our training to love on God's people and to teach the gospel to people who may have never even heard the name Jesus. I am so ready to serve with my whole heart and to grow in all aspects of my life.
As with all things, an opportunity like this requires financial support from a number of people. My first payment is due within 30 days of the start date, January 12, 2017. This is the most immediate financial need, being 3,725 dollars, including the extra hundred for the worship focus. The second payment I will be needing is at the end of week 6 in my dts, which will be 1,895 dollars. The last payment will be at the end of week 8, this will be the air-fare for my time in the outreach, an estimated 1,500 dollars. Totaling an overall amount of about 7,500 dollars. If you can partner with me financially, I would be so thankful. In supporting me you would become a huge part of my mission and you would be allowing me to take the next step in God's calling on my life. If you feel led to help me in this way I ask that you would donate to me here or make checks out to "YWAM" sending them to "P.O. Box 60579, Colorado Springs, CO 80960". Please include with your check a sticky note with my name, specifying that it is for my DTS tuition. Knowing that this is a large amount of money and a small amount of time , I remain confident in God's faithfullness. He will provide for me.
More importantly I ask that you will please partner with me in prayer. Prayer is the one thing that will allow me safety, strength, growth and success in my mission. Without your prayer none of it will be possible. It would mean the world to me if you would keep me in your prayers in my time leading up to my missions and especially during my time there. I know how powerful prayer is and ask that you will please support me in this way. While financial needs are important, I know that it comes in a distant second to your prayer support. If you will, let me know that I can count on you in this area, as it is a major priority to me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to me share my heart. Again, I am so excited for this new season and anxious for God to continue revealing His plan for me. If you have any questions or want to hear my story more in depth please do not hesitate to contact me. Seriously, I would love to hear from you. Your support, no matter how big or small, means more than you could know.
