Hi, my name is Kathleen and I live in Virginia. I just graduated from George Mason University and am working at a state park in Environmental Education. I am a young, Christian woman just trying to make the world a better place one person at a time.

Last year I discovered I had a 17 pound tumor, which was thankfully removed along with my right ovary. Then, I had a kidney stone in March and it was discovered there were 3 cysts on my remaining, left ovary. After a series of tests and surgery, I found out that one of the cysts were cancerous. I am now raising money to help pay for fertility preservation, i.e. harvesting some eggs before I loose my last ovary an the ability to bear children. I am scheduled to start the proceedure on November 20, and the hospital wants the $5,500 upfront. I am still paying off medical bills from last year and this summer, along with my school loans that have now come into affect.

I am currently single, and not planning on children in the next couple years, but I would like to have a large family in the future. I am only 23, and I cannot fully process the idea of not being able to have children, not yet. Its a concept that I will never be able to understand until I do have a child. Please help me save my babies!
