On Tuesday July 7th 2015, the Reed family encountered one of the toughest days of their lives. They lost not only one, but two of their beloved family members. 

For the past two months, the Reed family had taken in their grandma, who was previously diagnosed with lung cancer that quickly took a turn for the worse, spreading throughout her whole body. She was put on home hospice, putting a very heavy toll on the whole family. Everyone would take turns to taking care of her as she was unable to perform daily tasks on her own. They tried to make her as comfortable as possible, but the day eventually came that everyone sadly knew was coming. On Tuesday July 7th 2015 around 4:30pm Donna Newhouse, their beloved grandmother passed away.

While trying to cope with the loss of one family member, there came another horrible tragedy. Dillon had been fighting a terrible addiction to heroin, but after 3 long months of hard work and dedication, Dillon relapsed. After finding out about his grandmothers death, the only way he knew how to cope was going back to using. Around 8:30pm Dillon Reed was found unconscious in his bedroom. 911 was called immediately, and every measure was taken to bring him back to life. An hour went by and the paramedics tried their hardest, they could not bring him back.
