Hi guys!

As many of you know, my mom has a chronic disease called Multiple Sclerosis. In Latin, that means "many scars" on the brain. There is damage to the myelin coating around the nerve fibers in the central nervous system. It can affect individuals differently. Some MS patients lose their eyesight, etc. But in my mom's case, it has robbed her of many many abilities over the years. It is a progressive  illness. She cannot get in and out of her chair by herself, hasn't been able to for years.

She has a hoyer lift, but you can't travel with it, when we go to visit family out of state in Melrose, MA and NY. It is a huge bulky piece of machinery that cannot be taken apart easily.  My dad can transfer her to and from her wheelchair, but it is a strain on his back. He injured it earlier on this year and has to be careful on how much he lifts. We are in need of a portable hoyer lift that my dad can just pack up and put in the van and go!

Hoyer lifts are not cheap. Especially portable ones. They can range from 700$-2000$. I want to get my parents the best one possible, so it lasts them a lifetime and they don't have to worry about issues about anything breaking.

I am in no particular rush with how soon I need the money, but please share this page and spread the word.

This would mean SO MUCH to my family, my dad, my mom and me. MS can rob my mom of certain abilities, but IT HAS NOT ROBBED HER SPIRIT! She is a FIGHTER and is the strongest woman in the world. (I'm tearing as I'm typing this.) She is an angel on earth and she loves everyone she meets. So please, do what you can and any donation is great.
