On July 29, 2025, our world changed forever. Our sister, Brooke Messick, received the news no one ever wants to hear — she was diagnosed with cancer.

The word cancer is devastating, and our family is just beginning this difficult journey. Brooke is strong and determined to fight, but this fight comes with challenges far beyond the physical and emotional toll.

Brooke and her husband Josh are the loving parents of two boys — my nephews — who are also trying to navigate this heartbreaking news. As Brooke begins treatment and surgery and countless follow-up appointments, both she and Josh will need to take time off work to focus on her recovery and care.

The financial burden is already mounting:

• Medical bills

• Travel expenses for doctor visits and treatments

• Meals during hospital stays

• Everyday living costs that don’t pause during a crisis

With their permission, we’re starting this fundraiser to help ease the financial stress so Brooke and Josh can focus solely on what matters most: getting Brooke healthy and being there for their boys.
