My name is Kimberly Noh. On Saturday August 10th my sister-in law Yvonne Noh was in a horrific motorcycle accident in Deland, Florida. Yvonne was t-boned by a 19 yr old under insured motorist. Yvonne was airlifted as a Trauma 2 patient to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. Upon arrival to the hospital, emergency surgery was performed on Yvonne to try and save her life. By the grace of God Yvonne's life was saved however the doctor was not able to save Yvonne's severely injured left leg. Yvonne had to have her left leg amputated above the knee.
We have been informed by two different Law firms that Yvonne is only entitled to a small compensation. The drivers insurance coverage was the minimum amount as required by the State of Florida. Again as the driver is under insured the payout will not be enough to cover any of her current and future medical expenses. We were also informed that the driver was insured by the same insurance company that Yvonne has, so the attorneys cannot use that as an option for additional compensation.
Yvonne was thrown from her bike in excess of 50 feet and her motorcycle was an additional 30 feet past her. Yvonne's new Harley Soft-tail Breakout has significant damage and we are not sure if it is repairable.
This all being said, we are trying to raise money to help Yvonne with all of her financial obligations now and in the future. Yvonne will need months of rehabilitation and emotional therapy to learn to cope with this life altering event. Yvonne is going to have to learn to live and function with her prosthetic leg. Yvonne's home and automobile may have to be modified to meet her needs. Yvonne's personal insurance will not cover all of her current and future expenses, so we are asking for any assistance big or small from all of our friends, family and community.
