September 11, 2020 was the 19th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Closer to home in Alda, Nebraska 9/11 will share a more personal memory for the Yvonne Janecek, Hansen family. Yvonne, in need of more care in her later years, has been living with her daughter Stephanie in Alda. They also share this home with Yvonne's eight year old great grandson.

On this tragic Friday morning my coworker Nicci Roundy received a devastating call at work. Her mother had been pulled from her home which was engulfed in flames.  Yvonne had been badly burned and suffered smoke inhalation. Yvonne was rushed to the local emergency room in Grand Island, but quickly had to be air-lifted to a Burn Care Unit in Lincoln, NE, where she remains in critical condition.

Yvonne and her family lost everything in this tragic fire, including beloved pets. Any amount that you are able to spare will help defray medical costs and help their family get back on their feet.
