Help Yvonne and Ambar for their Mental health recovery

Dear friends and AIL Family

This is my sister Yvonne Diaz and today I find myself reaching out for help in her behalf after she has faced a series of devastating tragedies. Just a couple years ago, she unexpectedly lost her husband to a sudden heart attack over the course of two days. Left without life insurance, she lost her home and car and has been battling severe depression and grief ever since.

Just two weeks ago, another tragedy struck when her husband’s older daughter (my niece’s only sister) was brutally murdered by a jealous ex-boyfriend, who then took his own life. This horrific event triggered a severe emotional and mental breakdown for my sister, resulting in her hospitalization in a mental institution, where the cost is 30,000 pesos per day for a recommended minimum 10 days recovery .

My niece has now lost her father, sister, and with her mother hospitalized, she is suffering from anxiety and severe trauma that needs urgent attention from a trauma therapist. My family and I are now facing enormous hospital bills, medication, and therapy costs without access to adequate mental health care in the Dominican Republic.

I am trying to raise $15,000 CAD to help cover the clinic, medical, and therapy expenses. As a desperate sister, I am humbly asking for any help to support my sister and niece through this incredibly difficult time.
