In July of 2009 I met Jason Young while I was working at The Borgata Hotel Casino and Resort in Atlantic City NJ. I was a poker dealer and he was playing in a poker tournament that I was working. He was by far the most friendly and respectful poker player I have ever come across.
In early 2010 after I left my job at the Borgata I was back to play a poker tournament and for 10 hours that day I was seated next to Jason Young. From that day on we have grown to become great friends.
Over the next few years Jason decided he was going to open his own restaurant as this was one of his life long dreams. After helping him throughout the process of getting the restaurant set up to the grand opening I admired his dedication, determination and resilience every step of the way.
His other dream was to raise a family. I was so happy for Jason when he told me the news he met Kim and they were having a baby. From the time Kaeley was born Jason truly found his purpose in life.
Between the long hours running his business and taking care of his family again I was in amazement of his dedication to make sure everything was taken care of and always without a compliant.
In 2015 Jason had to close his restaurant as he always reiterated to me family comes first. He told me he was going on a "vacation" to Florida to see Kim's family from that time on he never came back to New York.
I don't know all the details of what went on between Kim and Jason. All I know is that Jason Young will do anything and everything to make sure he is there for his daughter Kaeley. Jason is the definition of a dedicated, loving and responsible father.
Through the past several months his resilience and ability to always keep a smile on his face while raising his daughter is something everyone should admire.
Please consider donating to help Jason with his legal expenses and getting shared custody of his beloved Kaeley.
Thank you,
Val
