Chad's Journey
Donation protected
As many of us have started this new year with new goals and resolutions, our dear friend, coach, and family man, Chad Rogers, is starting it with the biggest battle of his life.
This past November, Chad had routine bloodwork, resulting in abnormalities that needed further investigation. This workup included more bloodwork, a bone marrow biopsy, and a consult with a hematologist/oncologist. Just before Christmas, they got the news that Chad has leukemia.
Despite this diagnosis, Chad has the best attitude and fighting spirit. “Ok doc, tell me what I gotta do. I got this!” He has the most incredible nurse by his side, his wife Michelle, and the loving support from his “best buddy,” 9-year-old son, Ethan.
On January 9th Chad began treatment. He was admitted to the hospital for chemotherapy. The hope was that this intensive treatment would put Chad in remission and then they could plan for his next step, which is a bone marrow transplant in Seattle. To everyone’s dismay, this first chemotherapy treatment didn’t work, and Chad has to remain in the hospital while preparing for his second round of chemotherapy. Through it all, Chad's been a trooper, overcoming every obstacle, every hurdle that came in his path with the Chad mindset, “let’s move forward.”
Chad is a warrior and he’s in the fight of his life. He’s in the midst of it and we want to support this battle in any way we can. This is why, we, friends of the Roger’s ‘Ohana, are starting this fundraiser. We want to help offset the expenses that will accrue with this intense medical treatment and the extended time required for him to be off from work. It’s our turn to bless this family who’s blessed and supported so many of us. Let’s cover them with love, prayers, encouragement, and support. Mahalo and God Bless! Please share this link.
