Support Sebastian's Road to Recovery

Meet Sebastian! My 10lb 01oz first-born bundle of joy. Well, so he isn't 10lb 01oz and may not always be a bundle of joy, but he will always be my first-born. For a couple of years, it was just me and him before his first brother came along, and so we were able to create a bond that can be seen even today. I have always taught him to be polite and have manners, know it's safe to be honest and open with me, to be truthful, to work hard, to stand up for what matters, and about unconditional love. Don't get me wrong, we don't always see eye to eye. He is strong-willed with strong opinions that don't always align with mine, but deep down, I know he has to find his own way. He is smart and caring. He is loyal to his friends and those he loves and cares about. He's even had the same girlfriend since the 8th grade. That's a huge deal for kids these days. He's a hard worker. I wanted my kids to be kids and not have to grow up so fast because once they did, they couldn't go back. He chose to work. At 15, he started working. At one time, he held 2 jobs for a year while attending school and playing sports. Sebastian graduated from high school in June and was excited to finally be that "official" adult. He was working and getting out there on his own. He was weeks away from heading to Florida to help with clean up and rebuilding.
Wednesday, October 16th, 2024, everything changed. Sebastian was involved in an accident which has left him with ongoing and possibly permanent injuries. While at work a coworker that has given him issues in the past and is double his age decided to show off his knowledge of "gun safety". He ended up shooting my son. He spent 3 days in the hospital, which involved a 4-hour surgery to install hardware in his thigh to be able to walk again and physical therapy. In order to come home, he had to have 24-hour care and medical aid devices for his care. I am raising money for his continued care, including medication, gauzes, mobility aid equipment, doctor visits, any other aid items he may need as time goes on, also lawyer fees as we seek help for him to take any further steps, and financial help to cover his bills while he is unable to work. My son wants to believe it was an accident even though none of it makes sense. He does not want to ruin this mans life although his has changed. And even still with his huge heart for others and worrying about how this can effect the lives of other people he is left to struggle in all areas. Sebastian's life as he once knew it is now changed completely. To go from getting up and doing for yourself and being able to jump in the car and go or playing soccer with your little brother to now not being able to bathe, get dressed, or go to the bathroom on your own. Imagine being 18 and going through that? Now imagine that October 24th was your birthday and that's how you got to celebrate. That is my son's world right now. He doesn't deserve this. He is trying to be positive about the situation and believe that it has a purpose, and hopefully, he is right.
Sebastian struggles everyday to do the tasks we naturally do without even thinking twice about doing. He is determined to get his leleg to function again and get back to his life. He has a long road ahead. He is high risk for infection and his bones not healing together properly. I worry the mental impact all the trauma may have later on him.

Sebastian is a great kid with a one of a kind personality. He has a way of making you laugh in the downest of situations. He has a talent for lifting spirits even when he is in a bad situation. If he could get support I would be greatly appreciated. I couldn't think of a better free kind hearted spirited kid to receive some good karma finally. Sebastian is worth it and more.
