Help Save Fred

My name is Caitlin and this is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write.

Fred has been my best friend since I was 15 years old. We brought him home just before lockdown, and from that moment he became so much more than a dog. Through some of the darkest times in my life, Fred has been my constant. He has given me comfort when I felt alone, protected me when I was vulnerable, and been by my side through every challenge.

Anyone who knows Fred knows how special he is. He is only 6 years old, full of life, love, and loyalty. He has always looked after me, whether that was keeping me safe on walks or simply being there when I needed him most.

Recently, we discovered a lump and received the devastating news that Fred has aggressive cancer. Our world has been turned upside down.

So far, our family has already spent over £5,000 on tests, scans, consultations, and treatment in the hope of giving Fred the chance he deserves. We are all self-employed and have done everything we can to cover the costs ourselves, but we have now reached a point where we need help.

Fred's next treatment is scheduled for next Thursday and will cost approximately £3,500. We never imagined we would have to ask for support, and asking for help does not come naturally to me. But Fred has spent his whole life helping me, and now I want to do everything possible to help him.
