Yuval Mendelovitz's dog rescue in israel

Donation protected

Hi my name is Ariela and I am a former loner soldier, who made Aliyah 4 years ago from the US. This doesn’t have anything to do with the post but I figured you might like to know who I am.

I recently was released from Keva (overtime in the army), and have been home alone a lot. I had always grew up with dogs, so I decided I needed a new best friend, preferably a Pittbull, and I started looking for rescues. I came across Yuval Mandelovisch. Yuval saves dogs.

Thats the simplest way to put it. He rescues and rehabilitates dogs that would otherwise be put-down or have nowhere to go. Dogs that were used in dog fights, dogs that were thrown out on the street, and dogs that the owners actually just “don’t want anymore.”

What makes Yuval different is that he never gives up on a dog. Out of the thousands of dogs he has rehabilitated into homes all over Israel, there are dogs that are simply too traumatized or dangerous to be sent to homes, but does he put them down? No. He lets them live out the rest of their days with him, with love and a home that they never had.

Now there are a lot of dog shelters out there, because sadly enough there is a need. But Yuval is different because Yuval is alone. Yuval receives 0 funding from the government (although the ministry of agriculture sends him dogs to rehabilitate), and for insurance issues he cannot hire help. But even if he could hire help, he simply doesn’t have to money to; he can’t work because he gives all day, every day, to these dogs. He lives with them, sleeps with them, and eats with them.

Now, I know that I see all the time people on facebook writing posts asking for donations, or telling about a cause, and in all of us is a hesitancy to donate and send our money somewhere we aren’t sure about, but let me put those fears at ease. I am speaking of what I have seen with my own eyes. This is Margo, Margo is about a year and a half, maybe two. Margo was thrown out of her home, adopted from the street and thrown out again, this time to Yuval. I went with my boyfriend up to Naharia two weeks ago intending to adopt a Pitbull, but little did we know that Margo was waiting for us.

When we arrived, about 80 dogs came to greet us, but Margo, the dirty, boney, broken doberman leaned into us begging to come home. Yuval knew, before we even go out of the car, he knew she was ours, despite me saying I wanted a Pitt.

So for introducing us to our baby girl, who today is blossoming and the envy of every stranger on the street and every friend who meets her, for taking care of her till we could, and for sacrificing his life for these dogs, the least I could do was tell what I have seen and ask you to please donate, not for Yuval, but for the dogs he would die for. So please, send something, whatever you can, even a little every month can feed a dog. I know I will be.
