Our friend and colleague Yusuf, a gifted tailor at We Make Good, has just been deported and he urgently needs our help.

Our talented tailor and dear friend, Yusuf, has had his life torn apart once again. Because of a bureaucratic technicality, he was deported this morning to Spain. Over two years ago, Yusuf was briefly registered in Spain before coming to Ireland. Despite building a life and working with us here for the past year, that old record has now forced him to leave.

Instead of continuing his life and work with us, Yusuf now finds himself in a country where he does not yet speak the language, has no home, no work, and no way to support his wife and two young boys who are depending on him in Egypt.

Yusuf fled Somalia after losing both his brother and father to violence. He has carried grief, fear, and hope across borders, asking for nothing more than the chance to build a safe life and care for his family. In Ireland, he became more than just a colleague; he was a vital source of strength, kindness, and skill in our team, enriching all of our lives.

Now he must begin again, with almost nothing. This decision has left us heartbroken, but we hope that with your kindness, we can help Yusuf create a new beginning.

We hope that the skills and language he has learned with us, combined with his experience as a talented tailor in Europe, will help him find dignified work.
