Yusroh Abike Muhammed is a 2-year-old baby girl born with a severe congenital heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.

This condition means the left side of her heart is critically underdeveloped, forcing her fragile body to survive on an overworked single ventricle.

Since birth, Yusroh has struggled with breathing difficulties and recurrent chest infections. She is frequently unwell, experiencing infections almost every month or every other month, many of which require hospital admission. Each illness further weakens her and places additional strain on her already fragile heart.

Sadly, Yusroh’s condition has also begun to affect her developmental milestones. While other babies her age are becoming more active and responsive, Yusroh is often too unwell or exhausted to do so. Her mobility is limited, and her speech and language development are delayed, largely due to repeated illness, hospital stays, and poor oxygen levels. These challenges are heartbreaking for her family to witness.

The emotional, physical, and financial toll of repeated hospital admissions, medications, and ongoing care has been overwhelming and deeply draining for her family.

Specialist review and heart scans have confirmed that Yusroh’s condition needs advanced cardiac investigations and surgery. Doctors have advised that she must first undergo cardiac catheterisation to properly assess her heart and guide treatment. Depending on the results, she may require a complex 3-stage heart surgery.

The estimated total cost of Yusroh’s treatment is ₦20,000,000 (approximately £11,000), which includes:
* Cardiac catheterisation: ₦3.5 million (~£1,850)
* Possible 3-stage heart surgery, hospital care, medications, and follow-up
This amount is far beyond what her family can afford alone, the rising cost of inflation in Nigeria also means the longer she waits, the more likely the cost will increase.

Main initial target is 7000 pounds to cover the initial investigation and the first stage of the surgery. Currently we have raised ₦3,891,380 in total. We appreciate every donation so far and pray God will reward you in folds

We are still a long way from the initial goal and hence we humbly ask for your support. Every donation, no matter how small, helps reduce the burden on this family and brings Yusroh closer to life-saving care. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign.

Yusroh is just a child who has spent much of her short life in hospitals instead of learning, playing, and growing. She deserves the chance to breathe freely, develop normally, and live.

Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support as you donate and share.

The funds will be utilised as follows.

1) 3.5 million naira ( 1850pounds for the initial investigation ) to evaluate extent of the surgery required.
2) 10 million Naira towards the initial first stage of the surgery and hospital stay.
3) 6.5 million Naira towards the remaining surgery depending on the result of the cardiac catheterisation.
