Help Yurgo Back on His Feet!

On February 13, 2017 Yurgo was admitted to ORMC and diagnosed with multiple liver abcesses, hyponatremia (low blood sodium) portal vein thrombosis (aneurysm from modified bariatric surgery due to his Chron’s disease 8 years prior). He had drains placed into the liver and pancreas to remove infection. (5 quarts of purulent infectious material were removed)
Yurgo was discharged home on Friday February 25th to perform self Lovenox treatments and daily liver flushes and was required to drive himself daily antibiotic infusions through his PICC line at ORMC. After 3 days Yurgo began feeling discomfort in both of his feet, his left hand was swollen and he couldn't use his fingers, and when he went to the bathroom to check himself he noticed his left eye was bulging out of his face, he asked friend for a ride to his infusion that day because he was unable to walk because he was in so much pain and upon arrival at his infusion he was admitted for serum sickness due to an unknown Rocephin allergy. During this second hospital admission the hospital continued testing and also discovered a biliary stricture and a stent was placed in his liver. The second stay lasted an additional 8 days.
Yurgo was then released home to daily infusions (twice a day) and he started feeling good so he started doing what he loves. He went out shooting with a friend, ate a big meal and BAM! In the middle of the night he felt as though his food started to back up in his throat, he started vomiting for several hours. The pain increased and Yurgo decided to go back to the hospital urgently and was admitted yet again for a liver hematoma. He was in the hospital another week.
Yurgo has been discharged home, his ongoing treatment includes ongoing CT Scans and continued monitoring of the stent. He is in pain every day because the stent in his pancreatic bile duct is still hanging out of his side. The placement is awkward and uncomfortably in his rib cage area. Every time he coughs or takes a deep breath he experiences pain. He has lost approximately 40 pounds, since the beginning of this struggle primarily because eating also causes him pain. He’s on multiple medications, he’s having trouble doing basic everyday chores, and now he’s experiencing depression from his lack of being able to create and his mounting financial struggles. The surgeon has not made the call to have the stent removed yet, which will require an additional surgery and time to heal.
Yurgo has been out of work for approximately 4 months, he missed intermittent work for two months prior to his first hospitalization because he was not feeling well for awhile before things spiraled out of control, he is OUT of money, the bills are piling up, and he requires continued ongoing treatment and because he is self employed and he cannot work needs some help getting back on his feet.
On April 28, 2017 (Yurgo’s 44th birthday) we will be hosting an silent art auction to benefit Yurgo. If you are interested in collecting art he has quite a few friends that are all talented in different ways that have stepped up and offered their skills, and donated their creations, to help raise funds for him. Friends have asked how they can help if they cannot attend the auction, you donate here! More details on the auction to follow!!!!
Thank you so much for your love and support!
