A couple of nights ago, my best friend Angie experienced an unthinkable tragedy—her home, the one she bought just last year and poured her heart into renovating, was destroyed in a house fire. Angie has spent countless hours DIY-ing, learning new skills, restoring every room with her own hands. This wasn’t just a house to her—it was her safe place, her project, her pride. And now, it’s gone.

What makes this even more heartbreaking is everything Angie has already endured over the past two years. She has lost two of her beloved cats, and just a few weeks ago she was involved in a serious car accident. She has been hit with hardship after hardship, and yet she has continued to show strength, kindness, and resilience.

When the fire broke out, Angie was willing to run into her burning home to save her cat, Thio. If that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about who she is—her heart, her bravery, her love for others—then nothing will. She escaped with only the clothes on her back. Everything else is gone.

We are raising funds to help Angie rebuild her life from the ground up—clothing, essentials, pet care, transportation, and eventually a new place to call home.
