Yukon Cares is an independent, grassroots, volunteer-driven, humanitarian organization responding to the global refugee crisis through education, advocacy and resettlement of refugees in Yukon.
We are working in partnership with the Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver (a Sponsorship agreement holder) and the Catholic Diocese of Whitehorse.
Our first family arrived in January (a family of 11!) from Syria and we are now working towards bringing a second family, as well as one relative from our first family. All the money we raise (every penny!) goes directly to the families we settle. The church is not getting any percentage of the money raised and none of our volunteers are paid.
