Yukie Taylor's Indigo Designs
Donation protected
Yukie Tyalor designs and dyes with indigo using traditional Japanese techniques. It is a labor intensive process, from stitching to dying which produces an incredible and intricatly detailed piece of art. The turtle pictured here is one of Yukie's original designs.
The import of the precious indigo plant is very expensive. In order for Yukie to bring her beautiful indigo designs to the community, she needs to import her raw material. This fund has been established to help cover the overhead costs of importing the harvested indigo plants from Japan. Yukie uses the highest quality indigo to produce stunning pieces of art which include t-shirts, wall hangings, scarves, napkins, baby clothing and many other textiles.
Yuki sells her completed designs at The Olympia Farmers Market where she has been an honored vendor for many years. She was featured in Nikki McClure's beloved children's book "To Market, To Market."
