Welcome to the GoFundMe page for Yateley United Football Club.
We are a friendly community football club with a passion to provide opportunities and increase participation in sport, in a fun and safe environment.
Why are we fundraising?
Unfortunately on November 2nd 2023, we were greeted by the devastating effects of some mindless vandalism that will not only cost a lot to fix, but will use many man hours to ensure we can get the pitches to a standard to be played on. This will have a major financial impact on the club.
More importantly, these vandals have caused huge distress and 100s of children have deprived of football over the last three weekends and will continue to be until the costly repairs have taken place, as a direct outcome of their actions. Something which is not only upsetting but unacceptable.
This is the third incident of which has had a significant impact on our YUFC family and youth in our community. Despite our best efforts to protect and secure the pitches, it is clear we need to do more.
We will now need to rethink the security of our home to ensure that this cannot happen again.
Alongside the repair of the pitches, we will also need to prevent vandals from being able to carry out such acts again and to do so will need to increase our security. This unplanned work will come at a cost as well as many many more hours for our volunteers.
To see this is just devastating for all involved & will affect many childrens’ football over the coming weeks whilst we try to repair the senseless damage caused.
At Yateley United Football Club, we are incredibly honoured to provide people from the ages of 4-84 a pathway and platform to participate in the beautiful game.
Our Youth Section is home to over 400 members across 29 teams and all age groups.
As a club, thanks to our volunteers we have and continue to invest many £££s and hours in ensuring we can give opportunities to those in our community and beyond, a perfect, safe and fun environment to enjoy sport.
The reality is the club are so proud to support the community, of whom are at the core of what we do. We will continue to strive and ensure that we can offer participation in sport to as many as we can.
We proactively work towards improving and increasing local community engagement, involving volunteers in youth and adult football and day to day club operations. We encourage and continue to look at various and different ways to include, support and provide for the local community and beyond.
How can you play your part?
To repair the damage, get our youth teams playing again and improve the security to protect and ensure this does not happen again we need some help. For this we need to fundraise as it will take a significant investment.
If you can help in any way, every single person involved in the club would be highly grateful.
There are four important ways you can help us:
1. Donate. Please donate, if you want to support us please do not delay as momentum will be key to any success.
2. Spread the Word. Share our plea on your social media pages, WhatsApp groups and tell the world. The more people we reach the more support we get, and the quicker we can get our youth football secure and up and running.
3. Fundraise for Us. If you want to do a sponsored keepy uppy, walk or activity to raise funds, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org. Just something that may be fun!
