Yuca's surgery and medical bills

Over the weekend, our beloved blue heeler Yuca was involved in a freak accident and was hit by a car. Her front right leg was run over, leaving her with a compound fracture and several breaking points. We feel grateful knowing just how close it was to being significantly worse. Reluctantly and urged by many of our closest friends, we have set up a GO FUND ME to assist with Yuca’s inflated medical costs. Yuca will need special orthopedic surgery to insert rods and pins into her leg, along with many revisits and x-rays. We had to visit the emergency vet at UC Davis twice over the weekend and the end-game estimate has a hefty price tag. It breaks our hearts writing this as many of you know how athletic Yuca is (she really is a jock)… ramping up fences, climbing trees, swimming in all bodies of water or lunging full speed for Frisbees.
