Hello. This is hard to even imagine, but our family is having to plan for the impending death of our loved one, John Schneider. John has a big family and is a son, brother, father, uncle, and grandpa. Less than 2 months ago he was active and appeared healthy; working every Cardinals home game at the family concession stands, and cooking and grilling amazing meals.

Then, he had a pain in his neck. He went to the hospital, was given a muscle relaxer and sent home. John is not a complainer so for him to ask to go to the hospital was a shock. Several weeks later, the neck pain became unbearable and he went back to the hospital. Testing showed that he had an aggressive bone cancer that was already stage IV and has spread throughout his body. No treatment options could cure it, and with his hospital team, made the hard decision to enter hospice.

John lost one of his son’s less than 2 years ago to a different aggressive cancer, and while family is still grieving that loss we now have to plan for John’s passing.

The family is asking for help raising money so John can be cremated and the family hold a small memorial service to celebrate his life.

8/30/23 Update -- John peacefully passed away this morning around 1:30 with family by his side. Once final arrangements are made, this post with be updated. Please continue to pray for the family.
