On March 13, 2026, a chimney fire turned into a life-altering event for my friends Evan Moon, Kaitlyn St. Germain, and their family. What began in the chimney quickly spread through the brick and into the walls of their home, causing extensive damage and leaving the house unlivable for the next 6+ months.
Thankfully, everyone made it out safely—including their two young daughters (ages 2.5 and 4.5) and their two cats. While they are incredibly grateful no one was hurt, the fire has turned their daily lives upside down.
In an instant, they lost so many of the everyday essentials most of us take for granted—children’s clothing, toys, and the comfort and security of their home. Their daughters are now facing a long period of uncertainty without the familiarity they once knew.
As they begin the difficult process of rebuilding, they are navigating temporary housing, replacing basic necessities, and doing everything they can to create stability for their girls during this challenging time.
If you’re able, please consider supporting them. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference in helping this family recover and rebuild. And if you’re unable to give, sharing their story would mean so much.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
