Kirsten Zingler, a wife and loving mother of three young sons, wants what all mothers want – the chance to watch her children grow up. However, as a result of surgery to remove a brain tumor when she was 12, Kirsten lost 95% of her vision. She has not let this stop her from living a full life. She met and married Steve Zingler and together they have three children (5 years and under) and a wonderful life. But now at the age of 25 – more tragedy has struck!! Kirsten has recently been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Her medical treatments, including intravenous steroid treatments and Capaxone injections costing $6,000 per month, are needed to boost the central nervous system to strengthen muscles needed for walking and lifting. Even the taken-for-granted everyday joy of lifting and hugging her children is being threatened by this debilitating disease. Funds are needed for renovations to make the house handicap accessible and livable. A main floor bath requires modifications for Kirsten to safely bathe herself and her children. Although having medical insurance, the out-of-pocket or simply not covered medical needs are piling up!!
The overwhelming expenses, both emotional and monetary, are a struggle for the Zingler family. The
situation warrants a helping hand. We are seeking to raise a total of $35,000 - $20,000 for current
unpaid medical expenses not covered by insurance for the past 6 months, $10,000 for required handicap accessible modifications to their home and $5000 to help with other house hold bills for the family while they continue to make this new adjustment.
