Help Greg Walk Again with the Bioness Medical unit

Help Greg get a Bioness medical device to help him walk!

Gregory Riley is a man with dreams and goals and his primary goal now is to be able to walk. Greg was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at the young age of 24 and ten years later he is still able to walk independently without a cane or the use of a wheelchair. This is a blessing because his medical team has said he shouldn't be able to walk based on the increasing damage to his brain.

MS is a disease where the immune system can cause inflammation in the brain and eat away at the protective coating on the nerves that communicate between the brain and the rest of the body. MS has caused many challenges to his basic life tasks like taking a walk, driving, and coaching basketball (one of his first loves).

One of the primary ways he has been able to continue walking is with the Bioness medical unit (see video), which wraps around his leg and sends electrical signals to his nerves to help his leg muscles take steps. With the Bioness he can walk almost a mile without rest.

His current Bioness unit stopped working a few years ago and he has spent the last 3 years fighting his insurance for a new unit and has been denied 5 times. His insurance only provides one Bioness unit per lifetime and replacement parts to fix the broken unit is not an option.

Regardless of this Greg continues to wake up everyday and battle his body pain so he can continue to work as a barber for natural hair/locs and sing for his congregation on Sundays at church, where he is also the Head Deacon.

In this season of thanks and giving, we are thankful for Greg Riley, a great man, husband, uncle, cousin, and friend to all. Please help us allow Greg to maintain a full and healthy life as long as possible!
