Riley was born with Conradi-Hunermann syndrome (which is a rare genetic disorder characterized by skeletal malformations, skin abnormalities, cataracts, ect.). To look at Riley and see her you wouldn't know she has these characteristics. She is now 7 years old and is due for reconstructive spinal  surgery (scoliosis and kyphosis) next month. For those of you who know us, know that we do not usually ask for help. We always make do or figure out another way. The doctor's office is telling us if we do not come up with our portion of payment up front they will cancel Riley's surgery. We are very worried that we will not have the money and don't know what else to do at this point. We are extremly overwhelmed and stressed. This is not something we would normally do, but we would do anything for our daughter.
