This is the hardest thing I have ever done, to ask for help with anything. As you may or may not know, Brad Lara-Gagne is in critical condition and on life support. We are trying desperately to get him to recover and the doctors are doing all they can. I am trying to keep our home life going. I feel at a loss. No one wants to have to ask for assistance, but I find myself in that position today.
To give our brief story. Brad thought he had bronchitis so we went to urgent care as we are new to Florida and had not set up a primary care physician. Upon arrival, Brad's blood pressure was very high, but his heart rate was low. The physician there felt it was necessary to call an amublance to take him to Largo Medical. At first they thought he had a heart block. Because his heart was only beating at 33 bpm, they did not think a cardiac catheter was a good idea, so they did a contract CT scan. They found that he had a lung infection. They were not sure exactly what was causing this infection so they were treating with broad spectrum antibiotics. With a couple of days, he was having difficulties breathing. We decided to intubate and place on a ventilator, so they could do a bronchoscopy. After the procedure, things went south fast. We almost lost him. They did not expect him to make it through the night, but he is a fighter. I am so proud of that man. He is my world. The reason for this page is that I am trying to make sure that I take of things while he is in the hospital. I missed a lot of work. Since I am reasonably new at my job, I do not have personal time off banked. Unfortunately, life does not stop with things like this happen. I wish it did. Brad always takes care of me, know I am doing all that I can to take care of Brad. If you can help with anything, I am grateful beyond words.
