My parents, Marcelino and Dora are in need of help. They have been affected by the Almeda fire that burned through the city of Talent and Phoenix, OR. For as long as I can remember, they have worked extremely hard all of their lives and their dream was to one day have a home they owned. In 2015, they were fortunate to find this mobile home where they embarked into a new journey along with my brothers. My parents have gone through so much, with my dad having to battle multiple myeloma, cancer, and my mom having to be unemployed to give my dad the care and attention he needed, they were able to over come that obstacle and continue fighting it on a day to day basis.
On Tuesday, Sept. 8th, a fire started in a nearby city that prompted immediate evacuations in some parts of Ashland. By the time my mom became aware of the situation, the fire was already approaching the mobile home park, where her home is located. By the time they had to evacuate, the fire had reached full potential. The 45 mph gusty winds and 100 degree weather was not working in favor of the fire responders. My mother was able to escape the wildness, meet with my dad and were able to relocate to a hotel where they thought they would spend the night, thinking that their home would be safe. It was then that the fire also reached the area where the hotel was located at and were forced to evacuate from there as well. As many, my parents were only able to get a few sets of clothes, immediate documents but have lost it all in this fire that is being called Almeda fire. Unfortunately my parents did not have their home insurance active, so there is no way they can claim a loss to recover some of what they lost.
Even though my brother did not feel they need any help, they lost it all, and since neither of them are working currently, they will need as much assistance as they can to stand up from this. The funds will be made available to my parents as soon as they are available. My parents, being the helpful people they always have been, are willing to use these funds to help others as well.
I appreciate any help provided, whether financially, by sharing this post, or even to reaching out to provide guidance during these hard times.
Feel free to contact me directly if you would like to help in other ways!
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
