Richard - Medical Fundraiser

Dear Friends and Family,

As most of you know, Richard is seriously ill and has been in the hospital for some time now. Many of you have already asked, "How can we help?" Richard's medical bills have been mounting and he and Nat are now deeply in debt. We have started this fundraiser to help with the costs of Richard's medical expenses.

Throughout his life, Richard has been a person who never really put much value on money. He got by with well with very little. When he did make money, he was more than willing to spend his money on friends, family and anyone in need. Many times, people who know Richard have said, "Mindy, why don't you handle Richard's money and help him save." Several years ago, I finally agreed to step in. We set up an account for Richard that I controlled. Richard had his social security checks sent directly to me for deposit into his savings account. Great, right? The funds began to grow and I thought alright, this is working. Then I got the phone call. Richard and Nat were coming to America and had a stop in San Francisco. Richard apologized to me profusely as he explained that a few of his factory workers and contracted AIDS and the medicine in Thailand was extremely expensive. He could buy it for a fraction of the cost in San Francisco. Of course, we dissolved his bank account.

Anyone who knows Richard, knows he is a once in a lifetime, extraordinary person who has impacted the lives of many many people in all parts of the world. Perhaps he has impacted your life too. Any contribution to help with our loving and beloved Richard are greatly appreciated.
